Eton Mess

Another fantastic dinner by Lucy! Always look forward to seeing what delicious dishes Lucy will be cooking for the week. Her very tasty "Risotto of Roasted Garlic, Thyme and Almonds" and "Lamb Shank with Celeriac Mash" were both hits. As was her indulgent Tiramisu. Given the generous portions, will again be saving her Biscotti treat to have with coffee tomorrow. - Alexi,EC1Y

I've tried all the chefs in my area, and Lucy is definitely the best. She was my first experience of Housebites, and she keeps on winning me back. My risotto was delicious - not at all bland, with excellent flavours and texture. (If I'm being really fussy (and, I mean, really fussy), maybe there was a bit too much lemon juice. The mousse (free, so what a treat!) was one of the best I've had - light, yet rich, and beautifully presented. Thank you again! - Gwilym,N5

When I work late at the office, I usually order in a pizza...this time I ordered from Lucy and what a fantastic alternative!! The risotto was delicious, full of flavour and a wonderful texture. The pear and rocket salad was fresh and flavoursome - overall a very impressive meal. Gorgeous homemade biscuits were a delightful surprise that came with the meal. Another great meal by Lucy! Steak & Guinness Pie, Mash, Peas, Eton Mess... and a generous free chocolate mousse (for pre-ordering) and some biscotti (just because). In a word - WOW! I finally got round to trying out this new venture, and I was hugely impressed. It is a such a great idea, and I look forward to using Housebites in the future. As for Lucy's food, I couldn't fault it. The pasta that I had was superb: a really tasty sauce with perfectly cooked pasta. And the size of the portion was perfect. It was also still hot when it arrived. I felt as though I had a live-in cook in the kitchen! The Eton Mess was also truly excellent, with a delicious homemade meringue (in fact probably the best that I've ever had) that had a perfect texture. The food arrived perfectly on time (in fact, a tiny bit early, which was much appreciated by my tummy), delivered by Lucy herself, who "introduced" the two courses to me on my doorstep. Good service is always a great bonus. I am a regular user of Deliverance and have also used other food delivery companies. But this experience with Housebites and Lucy's cooking has opened up to me a whole new opportunity. Thank you so much Lucy! - Gwilym,N5

An unbelievably scrummy treat...and such huge portions! The risotto brought tears to my eyes (and I'm not even hormonal) as it tasted so much like the risotto my papa would make. Delish.I was able to share my leftovers (as I said, huge portions!) with my housemate who declared Lucy's risotto the best risotto he'd ever had and declared Housbites the best idea he'd ever heard! The extra touches with the garnishes were fabulous and the little extra of biscotti was actually the ultimate highlight of the meal for me, I saved it for breakfast the next day (yes, I do see biscotti as a perfectly acceptable breakfast food!) and it was, genuinely, the best biscotti I'd ever tasted. As for the tiramisu, better than many of the tiramisus I've eaten in Italy. So so so impressed, thank you Lucy! x - Poppy,EC2A

As a self-confessed Housebites addict, I have already tried a few chefs and Lucy is now my favourite chef! Her Pear and Rocket Salad and her Slow-simmered Chicken were both really tasty, and my boyfriend really enjoyed his hearty Boeuf Bourguignon. Each main was accompanied by a generous portion of sides. Barely had room for the Tiramisu, but it was worth the calories! Needless to say, we will definitely be ordering again. - Stef,EC1Y

Lucy's Boeuf Bourginon was absolutely delicious,the beef was meltingly tender and the sauce was fantastically thick, rich and full of goodies like pancetta and vegetables; together with a huge portion of mashed potato I was absolutely stuffed. I thought that it was a really nice touch to have it delivered by the chef herself, so much nicer than an inpersonal delivery man. I will definitely be ordering from Lucy again. - Tom,NW1
