Traditional Sunday Roast

Not bad. Somewhat similar to aeroplane food. Spanish tortilla was more like a frittata. Needs time to set to be a proper tortilla. Beef could be stewed for longer to make more tender. veg was good and not overcooked. pasta was fine. Pear and almond tart was ok. - william,SE19

This was the first time I had tried House Bites and I was really impressed. The fresh hot tomato sauce worked well with the mushroom and spinach strudel. The red fruit sorbet was wonderfully sharp and a good consistency. Will certainly use again. - Susan,SE23

Fantastic meal. Highlights were the bread and the pear and almond tart. The salad was very tasty and would probably have been better if I had put the dressing on! The Chicken in green almond sauce was good, had a little bit of a kick to it (I would like more) and a great texture. I thought the tortilla chips let things down a little bit, but they were a very small part of the meal. I do have a bit of a gripe about Housebites packaging - nothing to do with Gladys' cooking - but I do find it doesn't insulate the hot things enough. The butter was melting when we got it, and the bread losing its heat. The tarts were cold by the time we got through the main course and needed putting in the oven for a bit. I would also benefit from having things labeled somehow, I missed the dressing for the salad in amoung all the pots and had to taste things to work out which were the cream for the tarts. - Helen,SE22

We really enjoyed the haddock meal , the chips and mushy peas were gorgeous and the salamon was lovely. Less impressed with the deep fried prawns and the lentil salad. Very impressed that Gladys delivered the meal on her bicycle! Seriously unimpressed with the branded packaging sleeves on every container - extremely wasteful and unnecessary(this comment is not directed to Gladys).
