The food arrived hot and on time, it felt healthy and homecooked. I didnt feel gross afterwards. There wasnt the usual layer of oil on everything. My only comment was that the choice was a little limiting, we didnt have much of a vegetable option i.e. not a vegetarian meal, just some greens on the side. That would have taken it from Good, to very good. Very reasonably priced - nikki, E1

We had a disaster in the kitchen this evening, so turned to housebites for a last ditch dinner saver. Diego's meal was sensational, both the chicken and beef mains were perfectly cooked and flavoursome. The baby peas with bacon was delicious and probably my favourite. It was an absolutely delicious meal. The second time I had the Slow Roast Pork from him - both times excellently delivered. And for the extra bonus point he added a French Toast with warm Apricots dessert, after I expressed my disappointment in the order comment about non being on offer tonight. Food arrived piping hot and at the beginning of the half hour window. The pasta was cooked perfectly. What I really liked was that the food was not greasy in any way- it seemed fresh and healthier than your typical delivery food. Soup excellent, pork belly tender, beef rich and delicious, green aPple and walnut salad crisp and excellent. Beef was quite oily for our taste but perhaps thats in the nature of the dish? - Nick, E1

The fishcake and macaroni were great, but was rather disappointed with the risotto I'm afraid. The portion size of the fishcake was very generous so wasn't terribly affected by the disappointing risotto. Was again a very good portion size, but just rather bland. I'm a big fan of Housebites as a concept and the ordering process and service/delivery are great. Was also very appreciative of the complimentary cookies so will definitely be back. - Roberta, E8

To be honest, the Tomato Pasta and the Risotto was really average, we didn't even eat them. The Pork Belly was very very tasty but I guess it doesn't take to transport very well as the skin/crackling was soft/rubbery. The Mash was amazing and the Peas & Bacon and Cauliflower Gratin quite nice too. - Joe, N1

The two main courses were very good and well done. The two sides were not as well cooked as the mains; the cauliflower was overcooked and the peas and bacon was a little plain. Love the idea of Housebites, so really wanted to like our meal... but it was only 'fine'. The duck pasta was tasty, but the beef and lamb stews were a little insipid. Portions were quite small. And we had to put everything in a pan to reheat it, it was pretty cold by the time it got to us. Sorry, I hate to be so critical. - Glyn, E8

Food was cold, hardly any sauce (about a teaspoon) of which was congealed in the dish. I'm not sure the (by design) raw vegetable side goes with the meat. I wasn't v happy with the dish sorry. The duck was well cooked, if hot and with more sauce would probably have been lovely. - Chris, E8

Food was great - arrived on time and was still hot. Cheese croutons were amazing and theory the lamb and beef stews were delicious. The peas and potatoes were excellent! The stew was delicious if ever so slightly tough. The duck was also very good (but perhaps didn't travel brilliantly). All top notch for home delivery food.
